Personal Description:

I am a licensed special education teacher with almost 20 years of experience teaching in a wide variety of subject areas. I have also previously worked with adult students. I am passionate about history, literature, sociology, and anthropology, which makes me an ideal candidate for helping students achieve their academic goals as a social science tutor.

Tutoring Experience:

I completed my undergraduate education, earning a bachelor's degree in Anthropology. I then went on to complete a master's degree specializing in Elementary and Special Education. With my extensive experience working closely with students of all ages, I am confident tutoring anyone in a wide range of social science subjects from Anthropology and World History, to Sociology and English.

Tutoring Approach:

I think that holding students to high standards helps them accomplish more. I always create a learning environment that is encouraging and emphasizes my students' many strengths and capabilities to boost their confidence while helping them with the areas they struggle with. I use my knowledge of my students' interests to keep them motivated to learn.
