Information About Bryan
Aurora tutorPersonal Description:
I am relaxed and soft-spoken. In my high school time, I was also a tutor to those struggling with mathematics and science. I have played with music and jazz bands in my spare time and am also interested in fitness and cooking.
My wife is a high school teacher and I even do coding work in my spare time. Recently, my research contracts in Bordeaux have finished, bringing back to my home town of Aurora and I spend time volunteering time with the elderly and cooking for others.
Tutoring Experience:
I have tutored both university students and high school students part time, helping them achieve their goals since 2012. I have been through the university system for many years and know what techniques promote student success and strategic approaches to high-level lectures. I have supervised labs in the past, and have lectured for large classes of university undergraduates.
My high school clients have moved on to high-ranked schools such as McMaster, Waterloo, and U of T and have mastered mathematical functions, the basics of chemistry and an understanding of word problems in physics and other STEM courses.
Tutoring Approach:
I lean towards the Socratic method of asking many questions of the student so we approach our goals as a team; secondary lectures from another person often don't show great improvements. Learning through examples makes excellent practice for tests. Learning strategies and lessons can be crafted for each client depending on their needs. I prefer feedback on a continuing basis so I know how to optimize our sessions.
