Personal Description:

Hi, my name is Ben, and I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from McMaster University. I have a passion for geography, earth and environmental science, geology, and, most importantly, helping others. My goal for students is to help them understand materials and teach organizational skills and smart study techniques so that they may succeed in any class.

Tutoring Experience:

I have two years of experience as a teaching assistant at McMaster University for first-year geography. In that time, I accumulated over 40 hours of in-class time. I am available to work with elementary to high school level students and help with homework and test/assignment prep.

Tutoring Approach:

Each student is different, so I try and gauge how a person learns at the start of lessons so that I may tailor my tutoring approach to fit their needs. In my tutoring, I emphasize organization and understanding goals. Some students struggle not because of their ability to understand and apply content but because they have trouble answering questions the way their teachers want. Once students understand how to answer questions, their success often carries over into their other classes.
