This is how 2 referees rated Annemarie:
Annemarie here! I am a first-year engineering student at the University of Calgary excited by the opportunity to share my study skills and the simplistic approach to hard academic concepts that got me to where I am today! This year I was rewarded as the runner up for the University of Calgary's most prestigious entrance engineering scholarship for the community work I continue to do. Working closely with the special needs program within my school, I have had the chance to work with kids and teenagers, ranging in abilities, to simply enjoy school.
Teaching kids and adults with an array of abilities has been my job for over 2 years!
I have specialized the structure of my teaching to the learning styles of my students (ex, visual, auditory, kinesthetic, ex). By including diagrams, step by step written solutions, written analysis and a thorough breakdown of problems on a digital whiteboard, this has effectively allowed for students to retain the information with clarity and confidence to apply to their own practice. I strategically plan each meeting with my students to allow for efficient and effective use of time such that students can gain the maximum amount of understanding from each session.
