Information About Anita
This is how 2 referees rated Anita:
I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at York University, where I use computational techniques to investigate molecules and chemical reactions in outer space. I received my PhD in Theoretical Chemistry, which involved developing a mathematical model of the way in which proteins bend and fold in order to adopt their proper state.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, and I have a particular love for English literature. I also enjoy traveling and exploring the city of Toronto. I also have a keen interest in graphical design and animation as a hobby.
I'm currently a course instructor at both the University of Toronto and York University, where I teach computational chemistry and introductory physics, respectively. I also work closely with undergraduate students on their own research projects, where I initially teach them the necessary material in the field of quantum chemistry and organic chemistry, and later on provide them with guidance and support. In this way, I have taught close to fifty students over the course of the past five years, through both a summer abroad program offered by the University of Toronto where I taught physical and quantum chemistry, and a research opportunity program offered to second year students, also at UofT. Previously, I also taught a full-year course in computer science at the University of Szeged, Hungary. I have also tutored high school students in math, history, physics, chemistry, and computer science.
I approach every new student and tutoring session as an exciting challenge, and measure my success by not only how well I can help a student understand the subject material, but also by the extent to which I can help them become excited to learn. This way, students have a better chance of succeeding in other courses that they are taking and potentially struggling in, and often become more passionate about learning.
