Personal Description:
I am a PhD student in electrical and computer engineering at Carleton University with many years of experience as a teaching assistant. I always love to teach students and watch them grow over the semester. I'm good at math and with computers, and I enjoy sharing my teaching others about them.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience as a teaching assistant at both Queen's University and Carleton University. I have also served as an unofficial unpaid tutor for my friends during school.
Tutoring Approach:
My experience teaching others have taught me that it's often getting the right teaching approach makes all the difference. I find that often times the material is presented in an overly complication fashion. I prefer to teach by breaking them down into simplified concepts and taking the time to ensure that the student understands those concepts and how they fit together. I like to give students practice with applying these concepts to problems, both basic questions and those with common twists to ensure their understanding of the material and develop their own problem solving style.
