Personal Description:

My name is Amber I've been teaching for 8 years predominantly in the English/ESL field. I'm also qualified in Humanities such as history. I enjoy working with students and helping them to achieve their academic goals, which is why I choose to dedicate my spare time to helping students online or in person when possible.
When I'm not teaching/tutoring I enjoy hiking and traveling.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently working for a private ESL Ontario accredited high school that focuses on all skill areas. I am quite skilled at teaching writing after 4 years in the University of Manitoba ESL program; both daytime and teaching Academic essays and grammar in the evenings.
Previously, I was teaching in Noginsk Russia. ESL language skills ages 5 to adult.
Before that,I taught at the Canadian accredited school Yang Guang Qing school of Beijing teaching grades 10 and 11
In 2010 I taught in Zhengzhou, China teaching college level ESL and writing classes

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to use a scaffolding method to help students learn from a basic foundation. Then continue to utilize those skills on an ongoing basis while adding new information to challenge them and gain new skills.
When first meeting students/parents I like to find out what their goals are and make a plan according to their needs.
My focus in the English/ESL language is combining all learning areas: reading, writing, listening, speaking and representing the information.
