Personal Description:

I am a Software Engineering student at the University of Waterloo, and an empathetic, well-rounded honours student with a love for teaching and helping others succeed!
Throughout my educational career, I have endeavored to challenge myself with accelerated courses, with 9 AP courses in total, scoring a 5 on eight of them. I earned a 1570 on the SAT and two 800s on the Math II and Physics SAT Subject tests.

I am passionate about a plethora of subjects, from university physics and computer science to creative writing and the fine arts, and I love spreading my knowledge.

In light of current events, I am currently only offering online tutoring sessions.

Tutoring Experience:

Having mentored peers and children of all ages—from 4 to 17 years—I am adaptable to many different learning backgrounds.
I have tutored students in math skills up to Pre-Calculus 10, and worked with school-age children to teach English, Mandarin,
and Art Skills in the past year.

Tutoring Approach:

It is my belief that empathy is the most important aspect of teaching. By understanding where a student's frustrations arise, we can most effectively work to break down learning barriers together, and breeze through the material!

I am very proficient in expressing concepts with fundamental, easy-to-understand principles.
In my interactions with others I strive always to find the approach that will suit them best. As an experienced artist, I am skilled at expressing ideas visually; as debate captain, verbal explanations are also my forte--most of all, I seek to create understanding and connection with concepts in my students in the most optimal, personal way.

What I do best is helping students build up from solid foundations and learn problem-solving techniques that will be amazing assets in not only the subject at hand, but to anything they might tackle in the future!
