Personal Description:

I teach through Zoom from England and offer a new perspective to English from EngIand. have been been teaching for 40 years and was named an exemplary teacher by HMI.I have a vast experience in all areas of Education from Primary school to being Head of Art and then Head of Performing Arts and Head of English. I have taught all levels from learning difficulties to those with gifted and talented gaining excellence and distinction.
I believe that each person can achieve great success but sometimes they need help to believe in their own abilities and I can help pupils do just that! I enjoy music and drama and poetry and try to include these skills in my teaching I enjoy the latest films and like to include this way of teaching in how I approach the texts.
I enjoy playing squash and learn the Saxaphone as well as the piano. I love any drama about Shakespeare…

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught in Primary schools and then a college of Further of Education… Here I was in charge of City and Guilds Art students
i went on to become Head of Art in a Grammar School and worked with students gaining them Art GCSE and A level.
I then went into Primary Education and taught all ages all subjects .I became Head of English in a company where I set up a small Education School and then going on to become Head of English and Performing Arts in a Special School where I achieved exemplary status and setting up a new Drama Department helping all my students to gain distinctions as well as working with English Speaking Board exams.I worked with all levels as well as those with Speech Impairment and Autism. Currently I also work with young people who are going for Common Entrance Exams and help them in their Poetry Skills and Comprehension Skills as well as in particular Interview Skills whiich are paramount for gaining Entrance to top Private Schools
I am working with those who are doing GCSE English Literature and Language and work with those who are doing" Resits" as well as those who are achieving Grade A with my teaching. My focus is to help the students aim for excellent grades and enjoy the lessons. I also run Training courses for Professionals in companies that need focus on Presentation Skills and Elocution Skills and recently have worked with Major Companies. I have also worked as a Training Associate for the British Institute of Learning Disabilities as a trainer in Communication Skills to teachers… I offer speech coaching to Spanish Students and work with them to do the Cambridge Board of Education Exams in English. I have helped many of my students gain A Grades in English Language and Literature for the new Exams Structure The boards that I work with are iGCSE, AQA, OCR and Cambridge

Tutoring Approach:

I now teach via Zoom and this works very well. I have just completed teaching my GCSE Student for English Language and Literature and am now doing history GCSE as well as Art GCSE all through Zoom.
My approach is always student led and personalised to the Student
No student is alike and each has enormous potential . It is always seeking the confidence within them. I like to enthuse them about what can be difficult ideas and themes and it is paramount not to lose that joy of learning… I concentrate on topics within the frame work and looking at all the key learning points, I teach structure and how to use this with the exam questions so that the answers are focused but imaginative and exciting.
