Personal Description:

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the math dept. at U of T. Aside from doing research in the field of algebraic geometry (a branch of geometry that has applications in the physics of string theory), I also teach some of the more popular courses on campus in calculus, linear algebra, cryptography and stats.

I have always had a passion for mathematics, and have made it my job to share that passion to students. I am confident we will be able to work through whatever problems you may have

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught the the following classes at U of T:

mata35: calculus for business
mata36: calculus for life sciences
mata23: linear algebra
mata24: advanced linear algebra
stab57: statistics
matc16: cryptography
matc32: graph theory

Before coming to U of T, I earned my Ph.D. in algebraic geometry at UHasselt in Belgium. where I TA'd about 4 courses/semester in diverse disciplines for 6 years

My research has led me to travel around the world: I worked at UC Berkeley, Stanford, Paris, Edinburgh, Japan, Germany, where I collaborated and perfect the art of talking about math

Tutoring Approach:

I usually offer a first reduced introductory session, just to assess the needs of the student and whether we are potentially a good fit.

If this is indeed the case, I usually like to design a bespoke "plan of attack": I adapt course content and delivery style in order to ensure the student both meets their goals and understands the material in an optimal way
