Personal Description:

Hey! My name is Kirena and I’m currently a second year psychology student with a 3.7 GPA. I am well-versed and skilled in Biology, English, and General Sciences. I maintained a minimum of 90% in these subjects throughout my high school years and enjoy sharing my interest in them with others. I love to help people succeed and I genuinely want the best for everyone I tutor! My goal is to help my students of all ages to achieve their own personal goals, regardless of what that goal may be, and make them feel proud of the work they put into reaching that goal!

Tutoring Experience:

I was an English tutor in my junior high years. As my mother is a teacher, I would often help out with students at her school as well as with students at my own schools. I’ve established successful study groups.

Tutoring Approach:

My goal with tutoring is to maintain a positive environment where it’s okay to grow frustrated, make mistakes, and need a break sometimes. I listen very intently to those that I tutor and adjust the pace I tutor at intuitively. Every student is different and requires unique pacing, style, and motivation from myself. I teach the material in a very detailed manner and ensure that everything is understood before moving on. In addition to this I also teach students how to take ideal notes, and create practice tests and questions by hand. I give tips, tricks, and techniques to ensure the greatest success rate possible. I am supportive and genuinely caring!
