Personal Description:

I am a recent graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University. I received my Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in May 2018. I just finished teaching in a private kindergarten program for the past year, and am now with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board as an Occasional Teacher. I enjoy working with children, and have wanted to be a teacher since I was 5. I am currently completing my additional qualification in Kindergarten, and absolutely love the age group!

Tutoring Experience:

I completed 5 different practicum placements throughout my education with Laurier and Nipissing - and just recently finished teaching my own kindergarten classroom in a private school setting. I have also worked as a DECE (with directors discretion - I don't have my ECE), and a summer camp counsellor. I am currently working as an occasional teacher with KPR and are working with kindergarten to grade 6 during this time.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to get to know your child before we start. I will normally spend our first session getting to know their learning style and getting them comfortable with me. I will often create some sort of "learning plan" for your child - and this will include any goals you have for your child. These goals can be a reading level, writing ability or math work. I am also open to flexible seating while tutoring and enjoy having my students up and moving while they are learning.
