Personal Description:

Hi! I am 24 years old. I work part-time at a swimming pool, instructing children of ages 6 months - 14 years old. Some of my strengths are that I am hardworking and patient. I love working with children, as children are the future generation. In my spare time I like to hang out with friends, watch tv, and read.

Tutoring Experience:

I have a BA in Early Childhood Studies from Ryerson University. I am also completing my Bachelor's of Education through York University, and will graduate in June 2020. Through my Early Childhood Studies I completed 4 placement experiences. For example, in a daycare (Early years centre), family resource centre, grade 1/2 classroom, and an abroad internship in Italy for 4 weeks. For my Bachelor's of Education degree (teachers college) I have placement experiences in a grade 2 classroom as well as a grade 5 classroom. I have tutored one student before, and am excited to continue to tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

Building relationships with the students I am tutoring is essential to my practice. I also think that constant communication with students and parents/guardians is crucial. Four qualities that I believe good tutors have are: adaptability, energy, openness, humility. Being a professional and prepared are also important concepts for tutors to possess. I will support all the students I am tutoring. I will tailor my tuition to the needs of the student. I will vary my style depending on the ability and needs of the student. I am committed to teaching and learning alongside the students.
