Information about Sheng Yi - Melbourne tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Sheng Yi:
I started drawing and creating storybooks when I was 7, so I've always had a longstanding love for art. I was born and raised in Malaysia, and have lived in Melbourne since 2009.
Currently I run a web design practice, Studio Petit (**Web Address Removed**) and also work with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). I am both a web designer and a front-end web developer with over 4 years of experience.
I have been tutoring art weekly since February 2017. My younger students range from ages 4 to 12, and classes can either be 1-on-1 or multi-age groups (i.e. siblings attending together).
I have been teaching adults how to draw and paint via Classe Petit since December 2017.

CHILDREN'S ART CLASSES
My style of teaching focuses on nurturing creative thinking, using art as a way to express their ideas and thoughts. I love to give the children autonomy over the content of each lesson, by getting them to suggest themes they'd like to explore. As much as possible I like to use the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching.
My aim is to encourage children to confidently create an art piece and understand the intent behind what they have created.
ART / CREATIVE THINKING / DESIGN THINKING FOR ADULTS
Private 1-on-1 or group classes for anyone who wants to develop their creative skills. We'll be using art and design as a way to explore conceptual thinking, and build your confidence as a creative adult.
Suitable for all ages.
