Information about Sheng Yi - Melbourne tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Sheng Yi:
I started drawing and creating storybooks when I was 7, so I've always had a longstanding love for art! I was born and raised in Malaysia, and have lived in Melbourne since 2009.
Currently I run a web design practice, **Removed By Admin** and also work with the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).

I have been tutoring weekly since February 2017. My students range from ages 4 to 10, and classes are generally multi-age groups (i.e. siblings attending classes together).

"My two daughters are very happy to learn drawing from Sheng Yi. She is very nice, patient, and always encourages my girls to be creative and makes each class so enjoyable. Each class has different topic and my girls get a wide exposure to arts. They do a lot drawing at home now." - Tracy
CHILDREN'S ART CLASSES
My style of teaching focuses on nurturing creative thinking, using art as a way to express their ideas and thoughts. I love to give the children autonomy over the content of each lesson, by getting them to suggest themes they'd like to explore. As much as possible I like to use the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching.
My aim is to encourage children to confidently create an art piece and understand the intent behind what they have created.
ART & CREATIVE THINKING FOR YOUNG ADULTS + BEYOND
