Information about Pierre - Kensington tutor

Personal Description:

I am currently a resident doctor working in a large teaching hospital in Sydney. I graduated from UNSW in 2019.

I am passionate about medicine, and hope to one day practice as a doctor in Australia. Besides academics, I am an avid photographer, I love to travel to new and exciting places, and enjoy playing sports like basketball and soccer!

Tuition Experience:

I have tutored since 2015, since this time I have tutored students on subjects such as biology and chemistry. Currently, I am teaching medical students in the hospital from the Univeristy of Sydney.

I enjoy teaching as I have a strong passion in the subjects I teach, and I want to be able to help others excel and achieve strong academic results as I also attended tuition classes in the past.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tuition varies according to each student. I aim to find the most effective learning strategy for each student, and continuously develop and improve this strategy based on the student's feedback and what works best for them.

Generally, I go through the specific course outcomes with each student prior to the actual teaching and set out a learning plan with the student. I encourage my students to ask questions often, and also challenge my students by asking them many questions as well.

I believe in student participation rather than the more traditional method of passive learning as this encourages active thinking and hence an improved learning experience.

Lastly, I encourage all my students to form good study habits - I provide tips on managing study and social life. It is important to have interests outside study to prevent burn out.
