Information about Mathieu - Lavington tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Mathieu:
I am a native French speaking Canadian who has been in Australia since 2009. Being perfectly fluent in English and French (written and spoken), I have a great passion for bilingualism. I grew up speaking French at home, and all of my schooling from Kindergarten to Year 12 had been entirely in French. Everything else (friends, TV, etc.) was in English, so I was blessed with learning both languages effortlessly.
As a teacher in a smaller school, I have taught nearly every subject and year level. I've taught French to all year levels. I'm currently tutoring for French. Also, I'm teaching Senior English, Senior Modern History, Stage 4 Science, Stage 4 Music, 3/4 CAPA, Science, Sport.
I have a great love of my native tongue, and being perfectly fluent in both languages, I can easily relate to the students. I am a very particular French "grammatiste", and can teach proper pronunciation, either "Parisienne" or "Canadienne". Having struggled my whole childhood learning the differences between French and English, I'm able to assist students at whichever level they may be.
My methods involve rote memorisation, conversation, and practical activities. Mind-body stimulus, I have found, works best with learning languages. For more advanced students, proper syntax and having a feel for word choice will be areas of focus.
