Hi, I’m Linda, an English Language Teacher and Writing Coach.
I work with non-native English speakers who have an intermediate to advanced level of English. I specialise in helping students develop their writing skills, whether you are writing for work, writing academic essays for university or looking for creative writing tasks to help you improve your grammar and vocabulary.
I can also assist you with Cambridge exam preparation for IELTS, B2 First or C1 Advanced.
I live in Melbourne, but as all my classes are online, we can still work together if you live in a different city or outside of Australia.
I have been teaching English as a Second Language for over 10 years in Australia and overseas.
My experience includes teaching English language courses at well-known Australian universities. I have also worked as an Exam Interlocutor for the Occupational English Tests (OET).
My career has also taken me to Spain where I provided business communication coaching and workshops to international companies such as Brother, Repsol and the Bank of Spain.
In our first session together, we'll discuss your needs and do some short activities so I can learn more about your strengths and weaknesses. I'll use this information to personalise your classes and help you work on the skills you need to develop.
All my classes are online via Zoom. I usually give students a task to do between classes, either to practise what you've learnt or prepare something for the next class.
While I was living in Madrid, I studied Spanish, so I know what it is like when you want to express yourself in your second language but cannot find the right words. I like to be encouraging and supportive to students, but I am honest about the things you need to work on - I am there to help you improve, after all!
