Hi, I am 25 years old and currently work as an economic consultant within a large consultancy based in London. I am taking a years career break and have decided to lecture part-time in a University in Melbourne (Starting in February).
Whilst I have significant experience explaining complicated economic concepts on a day to day basis I also have lots of experience teaching Economics at a University level. During my 3rd year of my undergraduate degree, I used to offer private tutoring to 1st years in a range of 1st-year modules.
In order to obtain my masters at Imperial College London, I thought several lessons a week to a culturally diverse group of first and second-year undergraduates.
I take a very relaxed approach to grinds. I can empathize with those who find it confusing at first. I know I sure did during my undergrad. However, I great satisfaction when someone eventually gets an economic concept and how it is such a powerful tool for understanding the world around us. This is why I went into economic consulting.
I am not a natural mathematician and therefore have had to work very hard to understand some topics in maths. I feel this has always been very useful when I have had to explain things to my peers as I really get to the true understanding of a mathematical problem instead of just memorizing how to do something without fully grasping it.
