Personal Description:

I am a highly qualified English tutor with over 15 years’ experience, specialising in VCE English, English Literature, and English Language. I hold a BA in Education, a Cert IV in TESOL, and postgraduate studies in Creative Writing and Literature from Swinburne University.

My passion is helping students unlock confidence in their writing and analysis. Many of my students have lifted their SAC grades significantly, with some raising ATAR results within just a few months. I enjoy making literature and writing come alive, so that texts feel meaningful rather than a chore, and students begin to see themselves as capable, expressive writers.

I have taught in Melbourne schools and also tutored extensively in Australia, Germany, and the UK. My aim is not only to improve grades, but also to foster a love of learning and give students skills they can carry forward into both academic and creative writing.

Tutoring Approach:

I tailor lessons to the individual student, with a strong focus on both building core skills and achieving exam success. While I specialise in VCE preparation (English, Literature, and Language), I also support younger students in developing the foundations that lead to long-term success: reading confidence, grammar, essay structure, and clear written expression.

Lessons are practical, engaging, and highly focused. Depending on the student’s needs, we may work on text responses, comparative essays, oral presentations, close reading, creative writing, or analysis of visual and film texts. I use Google Docs and other online tools for real-time collaboration and feedback, and I always provide targeted homework and clear progress updates.
