Information about Jacquelene - Bankstown tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Jacquelene:
I am an 18-year-old female tutor who wants to expand into a similar, yet different, career. I absolutely LOVE kids; they're honest and funny. I am currently completing a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language; I do this online. I begin my educational journey in August 2021, which is when I commence my double degree for a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of International Studies.
My hobbies are:
- Learning new languages.
- Learning new and abstract things in general.
I aspire to become a paediatrician in a developing country. I would like to get as much experience with children as possible.
I have a Working With Children Check (WWCC) that is valid until 10/09/2024. I underwent a National Police Check in 2018. I also have a Provide First Aid certificate.
I worked at a learning institution as a tutor and administrator for two years. Whilst there I tutored in Music, English, and Maths.
I also spent my Christmas holidays in Mexico teaching children from low-socioeconomic demographics. I taught Green Action (Geography), English as well as PDHPE.
I currently home-school a primary student, tutor high school maths, and teach an adult ESL. I have quite a bit of experience with both children and adults in the many facets of education.
My mum is a primary school teacher, so I grew up in an educational setting. I learnt from the best, I may be biased being her daughter, but I have learnt a great deal from her.
I believe success in learning is dependent on stress levels. The correlation between learning and stress levels is best explained through the bell curve.
If you are under-stressed or over-stressed, you will not perform to your best ability. If, however, you have the right amount of pressure, you WILL perform to your best ability, in most cases.
I base my approach to learning on this idea. Too little stress will lead to an unmotivated student; too much stress will lead to an overwhelmed student; however, the right amount of stress and encouragement will lead to a maximised learning experience.
