Information about Federico - Sydney tutor
This is how a referee rated Federico:
my name is Federico and I am an Italian native who is now a permanent resident of Australia after having lived on 4 different continents in the past 10 years. During my time abroad I have kept a special bond to my country by teaching its language. I have had several successful students who were able to use their newly acquired Italian skills during their travels to Italy.
I am currently in the process of obtaining the National Certification for provisional interpreters in Australia and I also have a very well developed knowledge of Italian and English grammar.
Depending on how many hours the student is willing to dedicate to this, I am confident I will be able to allow you to have an everyday conversation within 6 months and be able to better understand Italian culture and customs. I would be delighted to have a first free consultation over the phone so that I can prepare a tailored plan towards your learning goals. The method will include reading, listening and speaking exercises. Depending on your learning goals, we could also concentrate on some writing skills.
I have had approximately 20 individual students in the past 9 years. We have had a great time learning together and I am happy to provide real references on my method.
Most of my students have as their main objective to be able to speak as well as they can.
I take a very interactive approach having the student speak more than me from day 1. The first few lessons are dedicated in passing on the logic and understanding of basic communication. Once the foundations will be established we will be able to move into speaking about every day life and progressively discover more complicated grammatical structures.
During the lessons we will also learn more about the Italian way of living, its people, its culture.
If the main objective of my student is to understand Italian grammar, then the approach becomes very different.
At least 2 to 4 weeks will be dedicated to understanding all the basics of grammar both in English and in Italian and then apply those principles to the language you are trying to learn.
