Personal Description:
I am a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Charles Darwin University, where I gained both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in various aspects of the medical field. Upon graduation, I worked as Scientist for 3 years in different hospitals both in Darwin and Sydney. I decided to take a break from lab work and pursue medicine. Additionally, I have spent the last two years working as a teacher's assistant, providing support to students in various subjects. This role allowed me to enhance my communication skills and deepen my understanding of effective teaching strategies. I’m passionate about helping students grow in their knowledge, and I strive to create an engaging learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new concepts. I have dealt with students from various backgrounds and needs so I can easily adapt to the needs of the students.
Tuition Experience:
During my time as a teacher's assistant, I worked closely with both teachers and students, assisting in lesson planning and offering one-on-one support to students. I was involved in tutoring small groups and individual students, particularly in subjects related to the sciences and Maths, which was aligned with my background in Medical Laboratory Science. This experience gave me the opportunity to develop skills in clarifying complex concepts, adapting to different learning styles, and offering feedback that motivates students to keep progressing.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tuition is centered on adaptability and student focused learning. I believe every student has a unique way of learning, and it’s important to cater to those differences in order to make the learning process effective and enjoyable. I aim to break down complicated topics into manageable chunks, using real-world examples to make concepts more relatable. Encouraging an interactive environment where students feel comfortable engaging with the material and asking questions is a key part of my teaching style. I also emphasize building students' confidence in their ability to learn independently, equipping them with study strategies that will serve them well beyond the tutoring session.
