Personal Description:

Hello, I am a newly graduated teacher from the University of Tasmania with a Master of Teaching Degree (Primary). I have moved to Launceston from Western Sydney in 2008 to take on an initial course offer by the Australian Maritime College, and my experience studying at the Australian Maritime College and University of Tasmania has provided me with great opportunities to understand myself, my learning, academic discipline and having fun amongst everything else!

Tuition Experience:

I have been a relief teacher since 2018 and I have been working at several schools such as Cressy District, Evandale and St. Thomas More's, primarily with students from middle to upper year groups, where I have mainly facilitated their learning by delivering national curriculum standard material that is expected with each school's values and goals. I have also engaged with with secondary year students (mainly at Cressy District) with the same expectation of delivering a learning experience for the students.

Tutoring Approach:

Through my experiences from my professional placement and relief teaching experience I have come to understand that learning involves building a calm and trusting working relationship with the student and teacher, encouraging both individualism and collectivism (responsibility for their own learning or help each other learn respectively), differentiating lessons for students with certain abilities, and, attempting to make the lesson concepts meaningful and relevant.
