Personal Description:

I am a husband and a father, and a teacher at a local high school. My interests include hiking on the weekend, and I enjoy playing in a local church band and coordinate my team within the sound and multimedia department.

I love every moment I spend with children and youth in my home, at school, in after school tutoring and in church.

Tuition Experience:

I am a teacher at a local high school. I currently teach year 11 and 12 Maths B, year 10 Maths and year 11 Physics.

I have several years experience in year 11 and 12 Physics, Maths C and Chemistry, as well as junior Maths and Science.

I also have several years of experience in tutoring a range of primary, high school and mature age students after school, where I frequently tutor over 20 students per week.

Tutoring Approach:

I firmly believe in the power of tutoring to enrich a student's education. I have experienced first hand many times how a student grows in confidence and this translates to competence in the classroom and to improved outcomes and the achievement of academic goals.

I love the individualised attention to student's needs that tutoring provides. I encourage students to ask me questions that are of interest to them and within reasonable bounds I allow the tutoring sessions to be guided by their academic interests. Students are encouraged to bring their homework and assignments to work on and get guidance. I am myself a classroom teacher of the subjects that I tutor so I also am very aware of the curriculum that needs to be covered and the sequencing of topics. I frequently provide exercises and activities to enrich their understanding.
