• Reading and teaching to poorer families who cannot afford tuition for primary school in core subjects like Math and English at the Willing Hearts main building.
Private Tutor for Secondary Students: May 2013 – June 2015
• While in Singapore I tutored younger students in Years 8-10 in areas of History, English and Maths.
• Actively teaching and interacting with Students in numerous learning activities.
I prefer to approach one on one tuition by building a foundation that a student can create an understanding around leading to deeper and lasting understanding of subject areas. Having a flexible and adaptive approach allows for more interpersonal tutoring. The tutor is here for the student and needs to tailor their style to meet the individuals needs. However, i believe that a student should be encouraged to think for themselves and where ever possible link what they're learning to real world events and examples. While critical analyse is important in order to build a students own ideas and perspectives on their subject areas.
