Information about Andy - Wembley tutor
This is how 2 referees rated Andy:
I graduated from Manchester University in England with a mathematics degree. I spent the first twenty years of my career working in IT, with 10 years in Australia. Returning to the UK in 1997, I retrained to become a teacher and have taught maths since then, predominantly in Schools.
I completed teacher training in 1998/99. After a couple of years teaching in a comprehensive school in England I moved to King Edward VI Grammar School in Chlemsford, where I remained for over 10 years. Kegs in Chelmsford is regularly in the top 10 of the league tables in the UK for academic achievement. Two thirds of my teaching was with A level mathematics, the equivalent of year 11/12 in Australia. I have also regularly taught GCSE mathematics and all other years, including two terms in a primary school, teaching English and Mathematics as a year 6 teacher.
My emphasis when teaching one to one is to reach a point where the student understands the mathematics that we may be working on and not simply how to tackle a particular topic or question, which all to often is the focus of many new text books.
