Personal Description:

Hi, I am Andrew!

I am currently the Head of Maths at my school and was recently awarded Highly Accomplished Teacher status which is a national award that recognises my strengths as a teacher.

I have lots of experience in teaching mathematics to students working from a Junior school level through to students studying Specialist Mathematics in their senior years of high school.

I have a first class honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering and am very confident with teaching all high school mathematics. I also have a PGCE in Teaching Secondary Mathematics.

Tuition Experience:

I am an enthusiastic maths teacher with 8 years of experience teaching all kinds of maths in a range of different schools from both the UK and Australia.

I am currently the Head of Mathematics at my school and I was recently awarded Highly Accomplished Teacher status.

I am very confident in teaching all branches of high school maths in Australia including Essential Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics.

In the United Kingdom I have taught mathematics across a wide range of abilities including GCSE Foundation, GCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Further Mathematics, AS Level Mathematics and A-Level Mathematics. Here I also prepared groups of students in university entrance examinations at leading universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Tutoring Approach:

My biggest strength as a teacher is having several explanations and making things clear and easy to understand.

I provide a range of simple explanations and combine this with a mix of fun activities to ensure that there is lots of opportunity to practise and learn.

I use lots of visuals in my teaching and do not talk for long periods at a time without breaking it up with an activity.

I am very familiar with teaching online and using a variety of interactive activities to accompany my instruction.
