Study Skills / Essay Writing
My name is Amanda. I am 21-year-old dance teacher, English tutor and fiction and nonfiction writer who loves board games and Parmesan cheese.
I have been a Primary School and VCE English tutor for 3 years and I currently hold a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing). In 2016, I graduated from Rowville Secondary College as the Dux with an ATAR of 99.05 and an English study score of 44.
Good written communication skills are lifelong, integral to almost any field of work. Given this, my mission is to assist students in English by providing them with a fundamental understanding of language.
My hope is that students will be able to apply this fundamental understanding to any other form of writing, both in VCE and beyond.
Confidence and self-awareness are the main qualities I want to instil in students, aiming to help them grow into independent learners.
If there’s one thing I love, it’s words. English doesn’t have to be boring! What I hope to do is help students discover their love for words and inspire them towards success.
My motto is “be the best you can be.” What I strive to do is just that: help all my students become the best learners they can be.
As part of my tutoring, I offer 7 days text and email support for any questions you may have outside of tutoring sessions. Relevant notes, writing guides or templates can be provided on request, and students can send me work between sessions if they have assessments coming up.
