Information about Sharmila - Coorparoo tutor

Personal Description:

I love the subjects I teach, and want to share that enthusiasm with my students. I graduated with an ATAR of 99.65, and have completed a Bachelors of Philosophy with first class Honours in Physics. I continued tutoring throughout my studies because I enjoy helping others to enjoy and succeed in their Maths and Science studies. Wanting to improve my skills, I am currently pursuing a Masters of Teaching degree from Deakin University.

Tuition Experience:

I have been tutoring for the last 10 years. I began as a volunteer when I was in Grade 10, and realising my passion for it, soon became a private tutor. During my undergraduate studies I again did tutoring as a volunteer before gaining a paid position as a first year physics tutor which I have now held for 6 years. After graduating, I worked full time as a certified IB tutor in Singapore for 3 years, before starting my own private online tutoring business, Can Do Teach, 2 years ago.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe learning should be enjoyable and that every student is capable of great results. I work hard to talk to students and their parents and find out their goals and challenges. I can soon identify what has been holding the student back, and tailor an approach that will drastically improve their enjoyment of the subject. I have never needed to be 'strict', because my students want to learn and soon gain the confidence that the CAN!
