Information About Allison - Philadelphia tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Allison . I am living in Philadelphia, in the United States of America, and studying at Temple University. I currently working on obtaining my Masters of Science in Education in Curriculum, Instruction and Technology in Education with a concentration in Teaching English To Speakers of Other Languages. In addition, I have completed my BS. Ed. in Spanish Education at Millersville University. I am certified to teach, and have updated clearances on file. I have taught English in Europe, United States, and Central America. In addition, I have taught Spanish in the United States.

On a personal note, I love to enjoy life and take opportunities to learn about other cultures. As someone who loves learning about cultures, I am always looking to learn more about languages and worldviews, and the history of our world. Sharing languages and cultures with others, are also huge passions of mine. A few of my hobbies are writing poetry, travelling, playing piano, relaxing with friends, reading, hiking, sound engineering, and sailing.

Tutoring Experience:

I currently work for the following online tutoring companies: Blue Online English, Consocio Online English School, **Contact Detail Removed** Tutoring, and Italki. The subjects that I teach are diverse and include English, Spanish, world history, writing, reading, literature, TOEFL/ESL, general computer knowledge, Microsoft Office, songwriting, and poetry.
While I have mainly taught and tutored adult learners, I have also taught high school Spanish in the United States. In addition, I have done freelance tutoring with international students at my university.

I value an individualized approach to teaching. Students receive instruction based on their interests, needs, personalities, and abilities. I also enjoy incorporating technology and current events into my lessons. Not only do I possess a strong knowledge of the intricacies of English, Spanish, and other subjects I tutor, I also value the many cultures of the world. I tend to teach English, history, and other subjects through the lens of culture, and enjoy learning about my students' cultures in the process. Additionally, I follow all of the United States teaching standards for the subjects that I teach.
