Information About Thomas

Personal Description: As a young person myself I can easily identify with my pupils. I build up good relationships naturally and find this a great approach to teaching. I have a passion for maths and my drive is to pass this on to even the most reluctant students.

Tutoring Experience: I am a qualified maths teacher currently working at a secondary school in Northampton. I am also an A Level & GCSE examiner for the main exam boards. I have experience tutoring many students one to one, all of whom have made large amounts of progress.

Tutoring Approach: I can cater for all abilities and ages. Whether you need a slow and steady pace to build up confidence or if you want to really stretch yourself to reach your maximum potential.

  • 2007: BSc Hons Mathematics, University of Warwick - University of Warwick (Bachelors)
  • 2004: A Level Maths & Further Maths (Both grade A) - Northampton School for Boys (School)

From Marie (5/5): (A-Level Maths) We asked for Tom's help for our son during the 8 months leading up to his final A level maths exams. Tom quickly identified any knowledge gaps and really helped our son get to grips with the areas he found difficult. He was incredibly patient and was more than happy to repeatedly explain things until our son was confident in the various methodologies. He was also available outside of the one hour lessons for advice and support and sent many practice papers, all in his own time.

Our son attained a final grade which was 2 levels above where he was at the start of the year and as a result, is now about to start a maths degree course at his first choice university. We are all so incredibly grateful to Tom and would not hesitate in recommending him. Thank you Tom.
