Information About Sarah

Personal Description: As well as having taught both children and young adults throughout my life, I have also trained in counselling, and so I hope to be able to an empathic and sensitive style of teaching.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught A level in school, and B.A. at university, in a related Arts subject. I have also home-educated my own children, as well as teaching dance privately.

Tutoring Approach: I am a sympathetic and patient teacher with a flexible, but thorough approach to tuition, aiming to nurture a love for English as well as a proficiency in the subject.

  • Post-graduate Diploma Dance Studies, University of Surrey

From Vivien (5/5): (GCSE English) Sarah has an engaging, warm and friendly manner with my children (studying towards GCSE and KS3 equivalent respectively), and they are stimulated by and really enjoy their tutorials. She is very gentle with them but manages to get them to work hard and in depth! One of my daughters' comments was "her enthusiasm makes English interesting" and from my other daughter "she has shown me there are so many different aspects to English and that's what makes it so interesting".
