Personal Description: I am currently a post-doctoral researcher investigating improved delivery of anticancer drugs and have recently completed my PhD using chemistry to join biomolecules such as DNA and peptides together.

Tutoring Experience: I have previous tutor experience with higher and HNC students. I also demonstrated to first year university students for 3 years during my PhD. I very much enjoy science communication and have taken part in many events with local schools such as designing a forensic investigation or even giving careers talks. I also created an exhibition about nanotechnology for the Glasgow Science Centre this year which was great fun. I have received good feedback from teachers and students and have used these experiences to continue to have fun with science!

Tutoring Approach: I first like to establish the students strengths and weaknesses based on how they feel and also working through some general examples. This gives a good basis to build confidence on their skills and what they have understood and a starting point for areas where I can help most. I mostly like to stick to working towards and with the exam format so that the student is not surprised on the big day but calm and confident.

• PhD (2005-2009), BSc Hons Forensic & Analytical Chemistry (2:1)
