I am a qualified and registered teaching member, have tutored privately as well as led educational initiatives. I took a TEFL cert along with PGCE (distinction) in 2013 to gain more access into mainstream education and have since tutored many online English learners and given tutor support in school. I am an expert in my professional field of dance (RAD). Currently I teach a year 1 and a year 7 privately online and face to face as well as teaching drama and dance at a theater school in Wilts. I am also employed by equal education.gov.uk to assist study English for 'looked after' children. My approach is diagnostic, task based, creative, friendly and professional. I like to find 'creative' ways to motivate learners so that they enjoy learning and develop.
My classroom experience ranges 20 years
My online experience ranges 6 years
TEFL and KS1-3 English experience ranges 5 years
The teaching approach I use for ESL is direct communicative learning (whereby the learning in many ways relates to every day and is often task based. When teaching KS1 - KS3 English, we diagnose a key area to concentrate based on the schools, students and parent's analysis (level etc) and find creative, engaging ways to motivate the student. I find online teaching (in many cases not all) through bitpaper a justifiable way to teach English as the interactive white board set up allows both the teacher and the learner to use the tools, (both writing on the white board etc), save the lesson and uses a simple link to simply log in and out. There is no need for the student to set up an account. Simply log on and click the link. I believe I can offer students a fresh approach to learning whilst engaging their curiosity and love of learning.
