Personal Description: As an undergraduate studying Classics at the University of Exeter, I immensely enjoy reading ancient languages, namely Latin and Ancient Greek. I would be delighted to pass on the skills that I have acquired over the last few years to others wishing to learn these subjects. My A levels provided me with a firm knowledge of much of the history of this ancient era, thus the language learning can be set within an interesting context.
English literature has been another keen interest of mine, and having recently achieved an A level in it I feel I am sufficiently well equipped and familiar with the syllabus to offer help with this as well.
Given my residence in Exeter throughout term time, I would only be available to tutor in person during my holidays, in the months of April, July, August, September and December.

Tutoring Experience: Whilst academically my teaching experience is limited, the fact that I am currently still studying my subjects at university means I am fully immersed in their great detail and grammar. What is more, school is not a distant experience for me which means the memory of the syllabi and indeed what examiners require is still fresh in my mind.
A Sports Leadership Award has instilled in me the confidence and approachability needed to communicate and teach effectively, and I have put these skills into practice with netball and swimming.

Tutoring Approach: Naturally my approach will differ from student to student, depending on what level they are at and what their particular needs and interests are. I understand the importance of getting through examinations, but equally I am more than happy to go over and above what is required, and I have excellent resources should students be considering one of these subjects at further education for example.
I can also help with general academic skills such as essay writing, having had much experience of this throughout my studies in arts subjects.
