Personal Description: I am a 23 year old, final year student studying Humanities and Cultural and Historical Studies at the University of Brighton. I consider myself to be confident, well spoken, enthusiastic and reliable.
I am passionate about History, and am currently in the process of writing my dissertation, focussing on the British Home Front in World War Two, using primary sources from interviews I conducted with people whom were children during World War Two.
My degree has covered aspects of history from 400 A.D to the 1960s.
I have A-levels in both 16th History and English Language and Literature.
Tutoring Experience: I have had experience teaching 5-11 year olds with a company called Mad Science, where I worked for three years. This entailed after school clubs and parties, usually with classes be**Telephone Number Removed** After I have graduated I am going on to undertake my PGCE in History at Roehampton University. I am currently organising to become a part-time teaching assistant at Chiswick Community School in the the history department alongside personal tutoring.
Tutoring Approach: Having worked with younger children for some years, I have found that it is best to approach teaching in a fun and vibrant way, for example, particularly with History there is always a way that can be devised whereby the children are enjoying themselves and learning at the same time. Hopefully this means they may even be looking forward to the next lesson.
