Information About Richard

Personal Description: I am 45 years old and live with my partner and ten year old son in North Suffolk. We have recently moved back to England after 8 years living and working in Sweden.
Iam enthusiastic and cheerful in all I do.

Tutoring Experience: Ten years teaching 11-18 in English high school.
Eight years teaching ESL in Sweden.
Tutored GCSE students in English and Maths.
Work with overseas nurses to improve all aspects of their English.

Tutoring Approach: As a tutor I like to get to know the best way each student can work. This can be formal or relatively informal and of course depends on the work being undertaken and the age of the student. I like to make the work as entertaining as possible which is crucial especially with younger students.

Qualifications:
  • 1987: B.A. (hons) English and Social Ethics: PGCE English and History - University of Lancaster (College)
  • 1992: PGCE - University of Leicester (College)
  • 2011: Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Study - University of Cambridge (College)

From Lin (5/5): (GCSE English) One word - brilliant. Didn't talk 'down' to my daughter just kept telling her she was better than she thought she was. Much more on 'her level' than most teachers at her school. Thanks so much for all you've done, I've enjoyed the quizes too! Would definately recommend Richard to anyone looking for a tutor.
