Personal Description: I am a friendly and outgoing person who has been living in the north east for nearly ten years now. I am living in Newcastle and am able to travel freely to meet desired hours. I am very flexible and am available for weekends and over holidays.

Tutoring Experience: I qualified from the University of Sunderland with a PGCE in 2006. I worked at Walbottle School (Newcastle) for one year teaching English before moving to my current position at Tanfield School (Durham) where I teach English Language and Literature across all levels and year groups. I also teach Media Studies GCSE and Film AS. I have been observed by inspectors on several occasions and on a recent inspection my teaching was judged to be outstanding (level 1) at Ofsted standards.

Tutoring Approach: I have a focussed and goal based approach to lessons and teaching which requires careful preparation on my part to ensure that all students can access the subject at hand with positive results. I use interactive tasks and exercises to allow the learner to become active in developing the necessary skills so that achievements can be made. Feedback and assessment is important to my teaching to allow the students to see where they are achieving and where they need to divert their efforts.

Qualifications:

• I have 12 GCSEs with 9 at A-C level including Maths, English and Science. I have English, Communications and Theatre Studies 'A' levels.
• I have a PGCE from the Sunderland University and full CRB clearance. I have been on numerous courses for professional development through my schools.
