Personal Description: I'm Michael, a 23 year-old Oxford University graduate with a degree in English language and literature. I'm new to teaching, but am enthusiastic, patient, and experienced in this area of study. I am looking to tutor up to GCSE level in English language and/or literature.

Tutoring Experience: Whilst I have no formal teaching qualifications, I have spent time volunteering at schools so have experience of working with children of different ages and abilities. More importantly, I have very recently progressed through the education system - from GCSE to A-Level to Undergraduate (and now Postgraduate level) - so am well versed in what is required to achieve academic success.

Tutoring Approach: I intend to use a flexible approach to tutoring, tailoring my method to the needs and aspirations of my tutee.

In general, I expect to set my tutee homework tasks each week, which I will review outside of contact hours. I will then offer feedback, and address particular areas for improvement within our sessions. I would also set weekly targets, although the nature of these will depend upon the teaching level and the aspirations of the tutee.

• 2009: 2.1 BA Hons. in English (University of Oxford) - University of Oxford (Bachelors)
• 2005: 'A' grade in English Literature A-Level - New College, Swindon (College)
• 2003: 'A*' grade in English Literature GCSE and 'A' grade in English Language GCSE - Greendown Community School, Swindon (School)
