Personal Description: I am a second year student at Liverpool University studying Anatomy and Human Biology. Liverpool’s undergraduate anatomy degree ranks in the top 5 in the UK, and competition for this degree was very strong (over 300 applicants for 35 places). The admissions tutors were interested in more than A level grades and were looking for people that they considered to be determined, resourceful and most likely to benefit from the experience.

I missed two years of school due to illness and so all preparations for my GCSEs were done at home with a tutor. I have learned how to make the most of an hour's session and also how to boil subjects down to their bare essentials to learn without the luxury of several timetabled hours per week per subject.

I am not a teacher. But professional teacher's aren't always right for everyone. Many people prefer someone closer to their own age and still actively learning and exploring the subject they are teaching. I'm not just reciting what I was taught in school many years ago.

For my Biology exam I got full marks in two different modules, even though I missed many of my lessons due to illness from which I had not completely recovered.

Tutoring Experience: Many years of helping friends with homework!

Tutoring Approach: My main aim while teaching is to convey main concepts and general ideas in a way that can be understood rather than using tricks to remember things by wrote. I'm more interested in why something happens than I am about learning what something is called.

I don't want anyone to spend all day copying something out o**Contact Detail Removed**s or wasting their time colouring things in. I have many strategies that I have used to pass my exams with a limited amount of time.

I prefer to teach in libraries and coffee shops rather than people's houses as it is close to the University and has reliable wireless internet, which I use frequently.
