Information About Margaret

Personal Description: I am an enthusiastic,committed and patient. I am always ready to give a listening ear to my students/tutees and ensure that they progress with their learning. I am hardworking, result oriented, caring but; very professional.

Tutoring Experience: I have been a teacher for over ten years and I have taught students across key stages 2-5. My experience as a teacher has made me better and better at tackling most areas of difficulties especially in literacy. I am a trained English teacher.
I also teach ESOL.

Tutoring Approach: I am very comfortable with the one-to-one approach because; it enables me to focus more on the individual and assist him/her to achieve their full potential. Most times, I give a sort of initial assessment which helps me to identify what level the student/tutee is working at. I give tasks/assignment after every session as a way of keeping my student/tutee busy and not necessarily to overload them with too much work.

  • Certificate in Counselling
  • M.A (Arts/English)
  • EdD in Education (in view)

From Vera (3/5): (GCSE Religious Studies) I don't think the work environment she provided is suitable. My daughter, however, felt very comfortable with her as a teacher.

From Lai King (5/5): (Primary Entrance Exams) I would like to say that Margaret worked very well with the children and with me. We only used Margaret for a short period so the tuition was very focused and concentrated. Despite this, I found Margaret to be very adaptable, for example she was more than happy to mark work posted to her during the week and she explained the English marking system based on her experience as an examiner. This was very useful for the children and me when reviewing their work. My son was offered a place at Haberdasher Aske School for Boys and my daughter was offered a place at the St Albans High School for Girls.
