Personal Description: I have just finished my Ph.D. in French and German and am lecturing at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Tutoring Experience: From 2004 to the present time I have taught both French and German language and literature modules to undergraduates at Manchester University. During this time I have also given private tuition to both English and foreign students in the UK and abroad.

In July 2003 I volunteered as a teaching assistant at Honley High School.

During July and August 2002 I volunteered to work as a teaching assistant in a German school in Frankfurt am Main, which subsequently asked me to conduct some classes in the adjoining Gesamtschule. I also worked as an au pair for a German family where I was responsible for looking after the children and supplementing their education.

Tutoring Approach: The qualities that I bring to teaching include enthusiasm for my subject and a keen desire to cultivate that same interest and desire to learn in students. I am committed to transmitting ideas innovatively and clearly so as to promote student comprehension and productivity.
I am eager to use different teaching and learning methods that encompass all of the learning styles, and incorporate all of the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I am, furthermore, eager to promote a positive learning environment in which the students feel supported in their learning. Equally, I wish to facilitate student learning by having a student-centred approach, in which the students learn actively rather than passively.
