Information About Lorenzo

Personal Description: With 6 As at AS level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Music and Philosophy & Ethics, and A levels in all (bar Philosophy & Ethics), my specialist tuition subjects are based in Mathematics and the Sciences.

Currently studying BSc Physics at Imperial College, London and BMus Performance at the Royal College of Music.

I offer a 20% discount for online tuition; **Contact Detail Removed** based sessions, pen and paper screen-sharing with an integrated graphics tablet.

Tutoring Experience: For over 5 years I have tutored a range of students aged 8 to 18 years old in subjects from Music Theory to Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

I am currently tutoring around 20 students for GCSEs, AS or A2 levels. Last academic year, all of my students received As or above at AS and A2 level, with two particular candidates receiving 100% in maths modules C1 and C2, and 100% in C3 and C4.

Previous tutees have received offers from Oxbridge, Imperial and other UK universities for maths, engineering and science degrees.

Please see the references section below for feedback from my tutees and their parents. If you would like references from any other previous students, by all means, send me a message and I will forward them through.

Tutoring Approach: Whether it's just catching up and keeping up with the exam syllabus, or wanting to move above and beyond what you're taught at school - I'm sure I can help.

Tuition sessions will be informal and relaxed, although work will be set for students to complete outside of the session. From previous teaching experience and my own academic work, I understand that everyone learns in differently; and that has to be taken into account for each tutee. My tuition style is flexible - a great part of the nature of one-to-one!

I take the time available in lessons to explain subject material and then follow on by working through questions. For exam pupils, these are found in suitable textbooks and past exam papers. Once a thorough understanding of required problem solving techniques are established, further material can then be set for outside of our sessions.

I generally work on a screen (via an integrated graphics tablet) during both online and face-to-face sessions. The display is clearer for the student than on a pad of paper or an exercise book, and at the end of each session I email through any of my written work/solutions/techniques as a PDF file. This serves as a reminder and a guide of the areas covered in the lesson and, unlike loose bits of paper, has the added advantage of not getting lost (!). My current students seem to love this setup, both for it's appearance and practicality.

Developing a strong tutor/tutee relationship is essential for learning success - I offer a free introductory session, with no further commitment, to help ensure that the student finds the right tutor.

From Adesh (5/5): (A-Level Maths) Lorenzo is an excellent tutor, Adesh has found the lessons very useful with Lorenzo setting him targets after each lesson. This helps him focus on areas that he needs to.

From Diana (5/5): (A-Level Maths) Lorenzo is providing my son Owen with 1-1 tuition to help him prepare for his C4 maths exam in January.

He very quickly established where Owen needed help and they are now working to improve these areas. Owen says that Lorenzo is very professional in his approach and well organised. He explains things very clearly and is very thorough. Owen would not hesitate to recommend him.

From Ali (5/5): (A-Level Physics) Lorenzo, has an infectious enthusiasm for his subject which he is able to share with his pupils, He has been able to target his sessions finding and gaps in knowledge and tailoring his tutoring accordingly. He has also been able to give valuable advice over choice of subjects next year and has helped with exam technique and confidence. Thanks

From Helen (5/5): (GCSE Combined Science) Lorenzo has been the only Science tutor that Joseph has found successful! After much searching and having tried three other tutors we have finally struck gold! Lorenzo has a very methodical approach to helping Joseph work through GCSE topics which he has been struggling with. He is able to relate to Joseph on his level and because he is young himself, that really works too. I highly recommend Lorenzo for Science tutoring.

From Jane (5/5): (Secondary Combined Science) Lorenzo has been tutoring my son for approx. 3 months, during which time my son's confidence with physics and chemistry has grown enormously. Lorenzo pitches his teaching at exactly the right level, and is "on my son's wavelength". My son has renewed enthusiasm for science, and is happy to work more on his own between sessions. Lorenzo has a very informal style, appropriate for the age group, and is willing to adapt his approach according to the differing needs of my son. Exams and results are still to come, but would highly recommend Lorenzo.

From Ellie (5/5): (A-Level Physics)

From Enrico (5/5): (Primary Maths) Very good tutor has the ability to guide the student through there development and observes the students weakness and aims to improve that area,Lorenzo provides feedback and is constructive in his lessons ,my son is enjoying his time with Lorenzo he feels comfortable and the learning pace is steady for him and not rushed at all.
I have noticed vast improvements with my son and only wished that i had started using Lorenzo 2 years ago .
Overall a very good tutor.

From Robert (5/5): (A-Level Maths) Lorenzo has tutored my daughter in both Math and Physics A/S. She finds him approachable, friendly and extremely knowledgable with a very good teaching style. This has been very valuable as part of her revision programme as well as increasing her general course understanding with the 'tricky pieces'.

From Dave (5/5): (GCSE Physics) My son had two refresher sessions with Lorenzo, which he found highly beneficial. Lorenzo was patient and explained things in ways that made comprehension easy. Recommended.

From Gill (5/5): (GCSE Maths) Great at putting George at his ease. The feedback that I received from my son was that Lorenzo was extremely helpful and had no trouble in highlighting trouble spots and helping to simplify the way that these could be approached.
I wish we had found Lorenzo sooner however I am hoping his input can secure a "C".
With many thanks.
My younger son starts year 10 in September and if possible I would like to secure a weekly tutorial with Lorenzo for him ?

From Chris (5/5): (A-Level Maths) Very polite, well orgasnised and focussed tutor. Lorenzo relates very well with my son and is able to patiently explain the subject matter. Highly recommended.
