I haven’t sung before and was nervous about the prospect but I’m the few sessions I’ve had so far, Lois has been fantastic at encouraging me and helping me improve. She’s also been really accommodating of my inability to commit to weekly sessions and I’m really pleased to have had the opportunity to work with her and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a warm and friendly person to teach!

Lois has been teaching my son Luke Piano for a while now. He really enjoys her lessons.
The progress he has made is amazing.

We are so pleased to have found such a wonderful, skilled and experienced tutor to help us on our homeschool journey. Lois has all the skills, experience and warmth we were looking for and a really committed and inspired multi sensory approach to learning.

Lois has a wealth of musical, singing and teaching experience. Not only is this demonstrated in her professionalism but also in the supportive way she has started teaching me as a complete novice.

I have learnt technical aspects such as breathing and body position to get the best out of my voice. I've been really happy at where it's able to go and what it can do. Lois has suggested songs suited to my vocal ability and also allowed me to choose songs that I know and like singing, learning new piono accompaniment herself in order to suppprt my own learning and enjoyment.

Best of all, I always leave my lesson smiling and feeling more confident than when I went in. Reminding me of all the very patient, suppprtive and creative teachers I've had in life.

Knowledgeable, thoughtful, sincere. Lois made me feel at ease immediately, which was a good thing as I had just over a week to find and prepare two songs before I left the country and for someone with 'singing issues' it was a daunting task. With Lois' help I achieved this, obviously more work needed but Lois has provided me with a sound base to work from along with exercises and tips to aid my progress.

I found Lois to have an open approach to her teaching. She was able to adapt her normal lesson structure to fit my whirlwind needs.

My First Lesson With Lois Was Better Than Any Other Vocal Coach I Went To And She Gave Me Breathing Excersizes To Try While Singing The Songs That She Gave Me To Practice To Go Back To Her And Told Me To Listen To The Singer To Try And Keep In Tune Because My Problem Is Keeping In Tune! So I Would Recommend Lois To Anybody!!

I have been to a few vocal coaches before but Lois is by far my favourite. Lois is a very adaptable and proffesional teacher.
She is very easy to be around, which is great if you are a nervous performer (such as myself).
Lois is also very good at explaining technique - she can explain things in a very technical manner, or in a way where you 'feel' what's happening.
Now after my 4th lesson, I am more confident and in control of my voice than I ever have been before. Thank you Lois!!!

As an anxious late learner (62 years) I feel very lucky to have found Lois . Her patience, wisdom and understanding combined with her obvious skill as a teacher have given me hope that I might one day be able to play a piece of music and benefit from the joy and sense of achievement that this will bring.

Lois taught me well and created a positive learning environment. She is passionate about music and understands how you can maximise understanding of your physiology to create maximum effect. I would strongly recommend.

Not wishing to pass exams or be the next best concert pianist ( the drop down box named me as 'casual'), the most suitable piano teacher had to be the right one for me, with this new learning experience.
Her write up appealed to me, over others some 15 miles closer.
We are now on lesson 3. On lesson one I was filled with so much confidence, I thought I could be the next best pianist and lesson two, I felt I was on a roll. Third time unlucky and those fingers really did not co-ordinate with those notes both on the piano or on the stave (I am even using the new technical words)! This is unfortunately where my new teacher would learn I am never going to be that next best concert pianist BUT she still remained patient, still encouraged me, still built my confidence and sent me on my way, reflecting on how far I had come in just three weeks.
I needed that teacher who wouldn't make me feel at my age I was wasting my time or hers for that matter. I wanted the whole experience of learning to play the piano to be enjoyable and fun but with accomplishment too. Lois for me is that teacher!
Yes, I have come so far in just three weeks and I am looking forward to those future lessons, when Lois as the teacher 'just adding her piece' to my playing makes it sound delighful. Hopefully soon there will be music I can play, where she doesn't need to add her piece, for me to sound delightful!

One session to date. A very capable tutor and versatile enough to adapt lessons to individual learning needs. Really enjoyed first lesson and look forward to remaining lessons.

Lois is really friendly and encourages me. She has a lot of expereince of teaching and it is nice to be taught be her.

Lois has been very friendly and has gone out of her way to help me. She has been particularly good at adapting her teaching style to suit me as an individual and helping me use my knowledge of the guitar to help me learn the piano faster!

After careful consideration I am very pleased that I chose Lois to be my teacher. Her breadth of knowledge is admirable and adds a lot to the lesson. She is patient and has a great way of teaching how to play the piano to a beginner like me.

I am really enjoying my lessons so far. Lois has unlocked a singer in me and I'm reaching notes I never believed I could. With her reassurance I can feel my confidence growing each week. Best thing I've done for ages!

Lois is amazing - she has transformed my non singing daughter into a singer in the space of three weeks. My daughter has acting auditions which required her to sing three different songs, some accompanied some not and Lois has truly worked her magic! I am going to sign up for lessons myself in the New Year - Lois is not only professional, calm and brilliant, but a lovely Lady too. Highly recommended!
