Personal Description: Hi there. I'm Lesley and I live in Dunfermline. I have two young children so spend most of my spare time enjoying family life. When I do have time I love to read and trying to catch up with the Sky Plus planner! I love my job as a teacher as it's so rewarding.
Tutoring Experience: I started at a local school in Fife 8 years ago and luckily I've been there ever since. I have vast experience at teaching English at Standard Grade, from Foundation to Credit level. I have also taught Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2 and Higher so would be comfortable tutoring at any of these levels. My teaching style has been very effective in the past - I have had lots of success at all levels.
Tutoring Approach: In my job, I always try to maintain high teaching standards. On the first meeting with a pupil (FREE), I will discuss what learning needs they have. Then we will create a personal plan so that these issues can be focused on / improved. Each session will incorporate a wide variety of materials and teaching methods as each student has different ways of learning. I am punctual, reliable, loyal and trustworthy. References are available if required.

From Euan (5/5): (A-Level English) From a shaky prelim result to a B pass in his higher we are delighted with the work you have done with Euan. The strategies you gave him for dealing with critical essays and close reading have made such a difference. You very quickly established a good rapport with Euan and I know he actually enjoyed his sessions with you which is more than can be said about how he felt about English at school. Thank you very much for your hard work, we totally appreciate it.
Reply from Lesley: Thank you for the lovely feedback. It was a real pleasure to work with Euan and I'm so glad that he achieved such a good Higher pass. He just needed a bit of encouragement to improve his confidence. He had the capability to do well. It's amazing how a few hours 1-2-1 can have such a dramatic impact. All the best in the future!
