Lauren

My name is Lauren and I studied Environmental Geography and Professional Education for 4 years at The University of Stirling. I obtained a 2:1 Bachelor of Science degree. I have always been interested in the way the world functions and passing on my passion for Geography to others. I studied both physical and human Geography at university. I am also a fully qualified Modern Studies teacher.

I have travelled to many countries across the world such as China to help develop my knowledge of the different cultures and integrated my experience into my teaching.

I am a very organised person with excellent time keeping skills.

Tutoring Experience

I have five years teaching experience and hold a permanent job at a secondary school in Ayrshire. I use a range of pedagogy to teach the Geography curriculum focusing on knowledge and skills throughout BGE and senior phase. I also mark for the SQA therefore I know SQA expectations and ensure I keep up to date with curriculum changes. I have created units of work for my local authority and work closely with my colleagues moderating work to ensure it is at the required standard.

Tutoring Approach

I am confident tutoring face to face or through online platforms such as Skype or Microsoft Teams. I will bring all the required resources, mark work and practice SQA exam paper skills.

I will cater each tutoring session to the individuals needs. Online sessions will be recorded and materials can be provided in advance. I am very knowledgeable about my subject and work extremely hard to ensure my pupils do the best they possibly can providing all the support I can possibly provide.
