Personal Description: I am a 36 year old mum of four children, ages 10, 7, 2 and 1. I gained a degree in Biology from Leeds University in 1997 and worked in a Government Office before qualifying as a Primary School teacher in 2006. I live in Mirehouse in Whitehaven with my kiddies, my partner, James, and Bonny the dog. I work in various schools teaching the music curriculum and covering supply. I have tutoring on a one-to-one basis since early 2008.

Tutoring Experience: Since gaining Qualified Teacher Status in 2006 I have worked as Year 1 teacher in Maryport, a supply teacher in various schools across West Cumbria and a music coordinator. Tutoring Approach: I offer a friendly, professional service, with helpful parental advice. I can come to you, or you can come to me, whatever's easiest, and I can work flexible hours. I work completely one-to-one with your child, using the style of teaching/learning that suits them best. I work together with the child to assess learning through a 'traffic light system' at the end of every lesson (I worked well with… I need practice on… I'm still very stuck on… ) to ensure the child plays a part in his/her own assessment and understands his/her own process.
