Personal Description: I am a mature, reliable and approachable teacher of English, Media Studies and Film Studies and I have recently completed a PhD in English at Newcastle University. I am able to travel to appointments or tutor students at my home in North Leeds. I take pride in closely tailoring my teaching to the needs of the student and the requirements of the examining boards, while making learning fun and stress-free.

Tutoring Experience: I have taught English and Creative Writing to students of all ages and at all levels, Media Studies at GCSE, AS and A2 Level and Film Studies at AS and A2 levels. I also hold a degree in politics.

Tutoring Approach: I believe that one-to-one teaching can be key to unlocking the potential of many students. For instance, encountering new subjects, or progressing to a higher level of learning may throw up challenges which only individual attention can overcome. In addition, for some individuals, group situations can be stressful and distracting, while gifted and talented students may need to be stretched further than is possible in a classroom situation in order to reach their full potential. My approach to tutoring gives students access to teaching tailored to suit their individual needs.
