Personal Description: I have a Biomedical Sciences degree (with Honors) from Kings College London, and obtained 11 GCSEs (all at A*/A) and 5 A Levels from Dame Alice Owen's School (where I have also taught). I recently completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Middlesex University. Music is also a passion of mine, expressed through playing the violin and having performed as part of an Orchestra on numerous occasions.

As a young teacher and tutor, I have recently come out of the education system and now enjoy helping others achieve their goals.

Tutoring Experience: I currently hold a leadership position at an outstanding comprehensive in North London. I have taught across all age and ability ranges, in large groups (25-30), smaller groups (8-15) or on a one-to-one basis. I have experience of what exams demand of students, what is required for coursework/assessed practical matters and exam technique- or how to answer exam questions, because despite the negative connotations of 'teaching to the test', if your child does not understand what a particular question requires of them, then all the knowledge in the world will be of no benefit.

As I am currently in mainstream teaching, I am the first to be made aware of any changes to syllabuses, have access to all resources and past papers and am always 'in the loop' of what is happening in education.

I have been tutoring for a number of years, and have a proven track record of helping increase attainment in exams. In the majority of cases, students will increase by 2 grades over a mock/January exam result, which is often the main reason students enlist the aid of a tutor. More progress i.e. up to 4 grades is possible, although much rarer.

Tutoring Approach: There will be an introductory meeting to determine suitability and to discuss items such as background knowledge, examining board, frequency/duration of lessons, etc. This is at no charge. Thereafter we set out a program for regular tuition at a timetable that suits the student.

I will always provide all materials needed such as pens, paper, files, folders, past papers, mark schemes etc at no extra charge.
