Tutoring Experience: April 2009 – June 2010: Director of Sport at Mount Albert Grammar School, New Zealand

• Line managed 6 Directors of Academy at Premier sports school in New Zealand.
• Developed a 3 year strategy for sport at Mount Albert supporting and guiding athletes from junior to Olympic and International level.
• Oversaw the school’s most successful sporting year ever with 7 national titles and 9 Auckland titles.
• Liaised with National press re; sport at Mount Albert and implemented protocols to develop a media strategy for raising the school profile.
• Developed website and implemented strategy and rationale for sport.
• Liaised with press and television for first ever live broadcast of school rugby match on ‘Sky’ television.
• Established a local working party for Directors of Sport.
• Introduced support network for talented athletes as well as a mentoring programme involving the athlete’s key partners.
• Ran recruitment days for minority sports including rowing and cycling.
• Liaised with several sponsors for school sport and established new relationships.

Tutoring Approach: I have a passion for PE and Sport and believe it is the only subject which crosses all other subjects.Tutees understand a subject better when given kinaesthetic and 'real life' examples.

Qualifications:

• Bsc Sport Science and Administration / PGCE in Physical Education.Have been both Head of PE and Director of Sport at an'Outstanding' (Ofsted) school.
